Report A Claim Howard County, Maryland has created and funded a self-insurance program to provide coverage for claims arising from employee injuries (workers’ compensation), automobile accidents, general liability and other exposures. Claims are reported directly to the County’s Risk Management office. Citizens who need to report a claim for damage or injury should call Risk Management promptly. This call should be followed up with a description of the claim in writing, including an original signature, and mailed or faxed to: Howard County Risk Management, Attn: Liability Claims, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Box 303, Columbia, MD 21046. FAX (410) 313-6399 Certain matters should be reported to the originating agency before contacting Risk Management, such as sewer back-ups, claims related to snow removal, and road paint damage.
