LEAD PAINT INFORMATION

Property Owners . . .

If you own rental property MARYLAND LAW REQUIRES that you:

  • Register property built before 1950:
    Call the Maryland Department of the Environment
    at 410-537-4199 or 1-800-776-2706 for a registration package.
  • Inform your tenants:
    You must distribute tenant rights information regarding lead hazards
    when a lease is signed.
  • Get a lead certificate:
    You are not required to test paint;
    You are required to get an inspection.
  • You will be fined if you don't comply.

PROTECT YOURSELF FROM LIABILITY AND FINES.
IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO DEFENSE.
