Members

Robert Brownell, Chairperson. Mr. Brownell is a lawyer with the firm Wheeler & Korpeck, LLP of Silver Spring, MD. His specialty is the representation of builders and developers in the acquisition, development, financing and sale of property; formation and administration of condominium regimes and homeowner associations; residential and commercial closings; title and conveying of property; commercial leasing (shopping centers and office buildings). He is a resident of Columbia, MD since 1969.

Nancy Rhead, Vice Chairperson. Ms. Rhead has been a teacher in the County’s elementary and middle schools until she retired in 1998. Ms. Rhead is currently involved with the Robert Wood Johnson Self Determination Project since 1997 and with the Harper’s Choice Community Partnership since 1998. She has also been a past President and member of the Board of Directors for ARC Howard County as well as a member of the Education Committee. She was also a founding board member of Maryland Coalition of Inclusive Education and served from 1988-1992. Ms. Rhead is also a board member of the Maryland Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies. Ms. Rhead is a resident of Columbia, MD.

Shaun Eddy. Mr. Eddy has been a Managing Partner for the Strategic Wealth Management Group since 2001, a firm located in Columbia, Maryland. He brings experience as an Investment Advisor as well as Financial Planner. A resident of Marriottsville, Maryland, Mr. Eddy was recently appointed as the newest Member of the Housing and Community Development Board, where he will serve a 4-year term.

Eleanor G. Gyr. Ms. Gyr is a retired State employee and has resided in a mobile home park in Howard County for 24 years. She has served recently on the Route One Revitalization Committee and other organizations like Preservation Howard County and the League of Women Voters. Ms. Gyr has also served as treasurer for the The Elkridge Community Organization and The Howard County Mobile Home Owners, Incorporated.

Mary Larsen. Ms. Larsen is the Intake Coordinator for Metwork Health Services, Inc. She brings experience in several fields including Counseling-Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence-Anger management, client services and public relations, insurance services. She is a resident of Woodbine, Maryland.

Michael Riemer. (also serves as the Liason with the Howard County Housing Commission). Currently, Mr. Riemer is semi-retired, but still a Principal with The Riemer Group, Inc., Columbia MD, land planning consultant and a Principal in the Patton, Harris, Rust and Associates, pc. Mr. Riemer is a registered Landscape Architect with the State of Maryland, Member of the American Society of Landscape Architects since 1971; member of the Home Builders Association of Maryland since 1974 and served as President and on the Board of Directors; he also has been a member of the Howard County Chamber of Commerce where he has served on the Board of Directors from 1989-1995, as President of the Board of Directors 1993-94 and as the Chamber CEO from 1997-1999. Mr. Reimer is a resident of Columbia, MD.
