RENTALS

Explanation of Affordable Rental Housing

The Housing Commission and the Department of Housing and Community Development own several units of Affordable Housing. Funding to acquire these units has come from several different sources including the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD); the County and the Commission. Each source of funds provides its own regulatory agreement which may change the rent structure. Therefore, a wide range of incomes can be served.

Units are located in many of the County’s neighborhoods. When a unit becomes available and upon determination of eligibility, the client will be shown the units that meet their eligibility criteria.
