PUBLIC HOUSING

Public Housing is funded and regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which allocates federal funds to public housing authorities that manage decent and safe rental housing for low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities at rents that can afford.

Public housing comes in all sizes and types, from scattered site single family houses to high-rise apartments for elderly families. HUD furnishes technical and professional assistance in planning, developing and managing these developments.
