In FY2002, a $300,000 grant was received to help purchase land to build affordable family rental units in Elkridge. Third year funding was in the form of a $200,000 loan to be used to establish a revolving loan fund to assist income eligible persons to purchase a home. Year three also provided a $28,500 grant to conduct an analysis of the impact of redevelopment on businesses and residential property in the Route One Corridor.

Moderate Income Housing Units – This is a part of the County’s Zoning code which requires developers when building with a certain density, to build a percentage of affordable housing. These can be for sale units or rental at the developer’s choice.
