HC Health Department - Addiction Services

The Bureau of Addictions provides outpatient addictions treatment services for substance-abusing clients and their families. Specialized services include adolescent program, women’s treatment group, dually diagnosis, relapse prevention and acupuncture. Fee based on sliding scale. Walk-in screening and referral service provided at no cost Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM.

Works to reduce the incidence of drunk driving and under age alcohol use; works to assist victims. Sponsors Victim Impact Panels, a speaker's bureau, youth education, public awareness programs, and poster contests in local schools. Also advocates legislation to reduce drunk driving and stiffen penalties on a local, state and national level.

The Serenity Center offers over 40 twelve-step fellowship meetings weekly for people experiencing various addictive behaviors. Occasional educational programs include lectures on the aspects of addictive diseases, spiritual and psychological workshops, and recovery oriented lectures and workshops.
