Receives, investigates and conciliates complaints of discrimination based on race, creed, religion, physical or mental handicap, color, sex, national origin, age, familial status, source of income, occupation, personal appearance, political opinion, sexual orientation, or marital status in areas of housing, employment, law enforcement, public accommodations, and financing. Hate/Violence complaints are received from victims and the Howard County Police Departments and investigated by the Office of Human Rights. Network of Neighbors volunteers are available upon request to assist victims. The Office also conducts Sexual Harassment Workshops.
