The Claudia Mayer Cancer and Resource Image Center is a community outreach program of Howard County General Hospital.

The Center includes a resource and lending library, free booklets and pamphlets, our website, Internet access and videos to provide information on a broad scope of cancer related subjects.

Licensed estheticians, prostheses professionals and hair stylists provide free consultations and assist with care. A variety of hair and skin care products are available, as well as wigs, turbans, prostheses, camouflage and corrective make-up. Call for hours of operation.

The Health Alliance is a coalition of physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and allied health professionals who volunteer their time to provide care for the uninsured. Patients are seen by appointment in a clinic setting. To become a patient of the Health Alliance, persons must be medically uninsured adults, reside in Howard County, suffer from a chronic illness and have an annual income, which does not exceed 200% of the Federal Government Poverty Guidelines.

HCGH provides a full range of medical and surgical diagnostics and treatments, as well as a comprehensive health education program. Physicians in 33 clinical specialties and sub- specialties provide a wide array of care including women’s and children’s services, internal medicine, orthopedics, cardiology, surgery, oncology, gerontology, psychiatry and emergency care. As a member of the Johns Hopkins Medicine, HCGH provides local access to certain speciality services not previously available in Howard County. The Hospital provides Physician Referral Service to assist residents in finding physicians that can meet their unique needs.
