Anger Management Program

In July 2006, the Detention Center initiated a new program for men in Anger Management. The program is offered with the assistance of the contractual Mental Health Provider and utilizes the Anger Management for Substance Abuse and Mental Health clients: a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Manual. The small group of about 6-8 men meets for one session a week for six weeks. They learn to manage anger, employ alternatives to violence and deal with difficult situations and difficult people. The men who complete the program receive a certificate. In the initial year of the program there were 21 men who participated.
