In March 2006 the Detention Center, in partnership with the Health Department, began offering the Guiding Good Choices program, where parents learn how to promote healthy behaviors in children and adolescents, and help avoid drug and alcohol use among children and youth. The program runs for five sessions and is offered approximately once a month. During 2006 there were 44 women who participated in the program.
