The PUBLIC LAND tree program...

Public land trees are available to sponsor in the grove locations on the right. The sponsorship donation is $500 / per tree, with the exception of Pioneers' Grove in Glenwood which in $1,000 / tree.

100% of your public land tree sponsorship is tax deductible.


Howard County Government in partnership with Howard County Tourism, Inc. has designated public locations throughout Howard County where BLOSSOMS OF HOPE cherry trees are planted. These groves not only add beauty to public places but also create awareness for the project, help promote tourism in the county and raise money to benefit the CLAUDIA MAYER CANCER RESOURCE CENTER.

Currently, over 250 of the cherry trees are located in groves planted on public properties, including libraries, historic sites and parks throughout Howard County.

Sponsorship donations pay for:

  • the initial cost of the tree
  • planting and maintenace
  • a donation to the Howard County Hospital Foundation earmarked for the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center
  • and on-going program costs


WITH YOUR BLOSSOMS OF HOPE SPONSORSHIP YOU RECEIVE...

  • a donation to the CLAUDIA MAYER CANCER RESOURCE CENTER on behalf of your chosen honoree
  • an inscription for your honoree on a beautiful bronze grove marker
  • receipt of an official "Certificate of Sponsorship" suitable for framing
  • an invitation to the annual sponsor recognition ceremony during April, and
  • An invitation to the official dedication of your grove once it is completely sponsored.
